Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–11 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Dina's Italian Deli at (224) 789-7322; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Its Google rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 65 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

I didn’t order for delivery and honestly one of the best Italian beef and spaghetti meat sauce with meatballs I’ve had in so long. I grew up in Chicago with an Italian family and this place just reminded me of my childhood. I am definitely ordering here again and recommending to all my family who is Italian if they’re ever out this way to stop by! The sauce was so close to my grandpa‘s pasta and it’s been so hard for anyone in our family to duplicate his recipe

I wish I could leave zero stars because that’s what this places truly deserves! From the crickets, to the customer service, to the terrible food… such a waste of my money! I stopped here before hitting the beach to grab a couple of sandwiches. It took a total of 34 minutes to order, pay, and receive my two Italian subs. At first their bread was frozen, then their provolone cheese was frozen — I was getting nervous at this point, but how can you mess up an Italian sub.. It was a terrible sub! She didn’t add any of the veggies to it, like lettuce. It was meat, cheese, toasted on stale bread. I didn’t receive the side pasta salad either. I was dumb for not checking the food for leaving, but I had wasted so much time waiting, that I just wanted to hurry and leave. There was only one other customer who was a small family and since there was only one person working, they had to wait 25 minutes at the counter, waiting to pay, while she took her time cooking. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!

Please don’t waste your time! Sat down to eat, wasn’t even asked if we wanted anything to drink. Took our food order, made us pay BEFORE eating. Woman working there was taking our order and was also apparently the cook. She was chewing GUM and on the phone the whole time she was ‘cooking’—then brining everything out in to go boxes! Additionally there were literal crickets chirping in the building. When I complained, there were no other customers in the building but the window washer who started yelling at her and me because he was waiting to get paid. Get home and the food isn’t even what we ordered! Please don’t ever give this business your time.

Stopped in just to check it out it’s a nice clean place. It’s got slot machines and they offer food so I stopped in to try a sub ordered the “chicken Parm” an “Italian club sub” As you see, I was served the “chicken Parmesan,” which according to the menu comes with garlic bread which I did not receive, but upon receiving the food she said that is what I ordered so I politely said thank you. That’s fine. I’ll eat whatever you made she than quickly asked if we wanted a receipt, rushed to finish the transaction, if visiting, be sure to thoroughly go over your order prior to it being made. The food was good, but I missed out on the garlic bread and trying the chicken Parm sub.

5+3🌟 We were leaving the Kingdom Hall, looking for some place to eat on Wednesday night. We saw the lights on going down Sheridan road. So my wife said why don't we just stop and see if we can get some food to go. Really really nice place. Not quite finished yet, I believe there will be more big screens, a full-service bar, and a larger menu! The pizza we ordered, cheese and sausage, was very good! No complaints there, 16" of tastiness. And, I will mention the young lady Carla who made the pizzas for us late in the evening and serves the drinks at the bar, very classy and has a beautiful family. Stop in and chat get a drink leave a nice tip! Of course they have the slots, everybody seems to enjoy that. I don't gamble so the food is what gets my attention and the staff which are very nice. When everything is done, it'll be one of the nicer places in the area, actually it already is!
